Former Serowe Administrative Authority chairperson, Mr Mpho ‘Dunga’ Kooreme died on Tuesday after a short illness.

Mr Kooreme also served as Serowe Sub land board chairperson and a member of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) councillor who lost in the 2019 general election.

Mr Kooreme was also a former soccer player who played for Extension Gunners and the Zebras under 17, 20 and 23.

A friend and former councillor for Tidimalo ward in Serowe also the chairperson of Serowe regional football association, Mr Solomon Dikgang said Dunga was the darling of football.

He said Dunga coached various teams in Serowe including Tsabotlhe FC, Maphatshwa, Green Lovers and Kegg Sup Strikers.

Mr Dikgang said Mr Kooreme contributed to the development of Serowe social clubs.

He described him as humble, fair and a straight talker.  Funeral arrangements are ongoing. ENDS
