Robbers terrorise Mahalapye residents

Crime continues to increase at an alarming rate in Mahalapye District as houses are broken into day and night
The Officer Commanding of Mahalapye Police District, Senior Superintendent Nicholas Kadiatla said in an that police finally arrested a 34-year-old man of Madiba ward in Mahalapye, whom they had been looking for house break-in where he allegedly stole valuables worth P39 225.
The valuables according to Supt Kadiatla included bedding, fridges, microwaves, radios, televisions, sofas, mirrors and clothes. He said the suspect left the house empty. He said the break-in was reported by the owner of the house mid-January.
Supt Kadiatla said the culprit went missing, played hide and seek until he was arrested Tuesday following a tip-off. All the goods were recovered at his home at Madiba Ward. He will appear before the Mahalapye Magistrate Court today.
Mr Kadiatla encouraged Mahalapye residents to be each other’s guardians in their homes because crime affects every individual despite positions they held.
In Serowe, a 31-year-old man was found hanging from a Motlopi tree, dead, at Morongwa lands near Serowe.
Assistant Superintendent, Marvis Ketshele of Serowe Police Station indicated that the deceased was staying with his cousins. Police investigations are still on-going. ENDS
