A 22-year-old Kaone Ramagapu of Masololo Ward in Serowe appeared before Senior Magistrate Onneile Ntwayapelo for a single count of murder.

The accused person is said to have on February 9, at or near Moremogolo depot in Serowe, murdered one Pako Johane.

The prosecution asked for the accused to be remanded in custody, indicating that the investigating officer was still handling the deceased’s post-mortem issues in Gaborone.

Senior Magistrate Ntwayapelo ordered for Ramagapu to be remanded in custody and appear before the Serowe Magistrate Court on February 17.

However, in an interview with Serowe police, Assistant Station Commander, Ms Marvis Ketshele, said a young man lost his life at Moremogolo Bar and Depot at the hands of his friend.

According to police reports, the incident occurred after the two friends  fight over Chibuku which alledgedly  belonged to Ramagapu from Motetshwane Ward.

She said  Ramagapu’s friend, Johane attempted to compensate his drinking friend by offering P20 for the drink, but the situation turned sour.

She said the suspect was alleged to have stabbed his former friend with a sharp instrument before escaping the scene. Police are currently investigating the incident. ENDS
