Bomme hits shelves

Unlike other sonic works, the best jazz lives completely in the moment; its players are given freedom to feel the rhythm and see where it takes them.

This is resonated in the sounds of Punah Gabasiane and Nono Siile on their latest instalment, Bomme on a track named Re tsetswe jalo.

Punah Gabasiane has made a statement with her sizzling debut jazz album titled Iyoo Nna. Whereas afro jazz star, Nono Siile is in a league of a few in the Botswana music industry, since releasing her hit debut, Kgarebe in 2007, the duo has been hailed as some of the most talented jazz musicians in the country.

The lyrics to the song Re tsetswe jalo translate to We were born like this, which means that people should celebrate in acceptance and be proud of who they are.

This single is dedicated to the fans as the jazz sensations want them to have a taste of what is coming. The themes for the albums continue to celebrate, motivate and inspire other women.

The contemporary afro jazz sound is in perfect tune with today’s new smooth jazz trends without losing its panache. Packed with intensity and complexity, the smooth and expert vocals and composition skills are celebrated countrywide.

One can most certainly feel the band’s exuberance when its sound amplifies, the soothing vocals also blend well with the sound and this punctuates the record’s intimate feel.

he musicians appear to have good chemistry and interplay with each other. The single was recorded at Soul Heavens Studios with Punah and Nonoas the lead vocalists alongside the lead and bass guitarist, Costa Sephekolo, keyboardist, Mooketsi Sean Mlandu, sound engineer, Thabang Gaarongwe and the classic line-up is completed by saxophonist, Lister Boleseng.

It is no doubt that the song will definitely have positive reception from the fans while they wait with baited breath for the upcoming individual projects from the artistes.
