15 Jan 2025

Parents and learners in Kazungula and the periphery were beaming with joy on Tuesday as Ramaeba Primary School welcomed its first enrolment following completion last year.

Speaking at the handover of learners to the school management, Chobe MP, Mr Simasiku Mapulanga said the state-of-the-art school was tailor-made to achieve quality education and produce top achievers who would compete with other learners nationwide.

The China-aided school, funded at P80 million welcomed 480 learners for reception classes to Standard  Six.

Mr Mapulanga therefore, observed that it had all the amenities designed to ensure that a learner was well equipped for modern-day learning with facilities like the library, sports field and proper furniture.

He implored learners to maintain a clean environment so that Ramaeba would remain beautiful as it is for years  to come.

Mr Mapulanga explained that since the school was new, there was need to adhere to  the specific enrolment in order to assess if the school was serving its purpose to decongest schools in Kazungula and surrounding areas.

He thus urged parents to be patient in situations where their children were not enrolled at Ramaeba.

The school head, Mr Muzimeni Mokoti said Ramaeba was a school of excellence where history would be written by producing quality education. He said the handover ceremony allowed parents to familiarise themselves with the school’s environment and interact with teachers.

“We are a school of excellence and we require joint efforts from parents, teachers and learners so that we deliver on the mandate,” he said.

Mr Mokoti stated that they aimed to craft their own culture synonymous with the school so that learners would carry and live the values of Ramaeba.

He explained that the school did not have Standard Seven classes this year in order to build its completing learners. ENDS
