Sojwe police investigate rape incident

Police in Sojwe are investigating a case in which a 24-year-old man is alleged to have raped his father’s 39-year-old girlfriend.
Assistant Commissioner and Southern Division Regional Traffic Officer, Boiki Mojalemotho said the incident happened in Loologane on December 30.
He said the two spent the day drinking and in the evening went to their respective homes, but the suspect returned at night and demanded to sleep with the victim, pointing that he had spent a lot of money buying alcohol for her.
Assistant Commissioner Mojalemotho said the victim’s mother tried to intervene but failed and eventually the suspect pulled the victim to a nearby structure where he raped her. The suspect has been arrested and remains in custody. Ends
