Boy in police custody for cousin death

A 17-year-old boy is in police custody after he allegedly stabbed and killed his 20-year-old cousin on Christmas Day.
Mogoditshane Police Station Commander Superintendent Mbiganyi Letsholathebe said the two, who lived together at Goo-Mmipi ward in Metsimotlhabe had a heated argument after the suspect accused the deceased for taking a long time after he sent him to buy a cigarette.
Amidst the scuffle, Superintendent Letsholo said the suspect allegedly picked a butcher knife and stabbed the deceased on the chest and back. He said the deceased’s aunt rushed him to Bokamoso Private Hospital where he was certified dead.
The suspect was arrested on the same night of the incident, Superintendent Letsholathebe said. He was arraigned before Broadhurst Magistrate Court on Monday morning and remains remanded while investigations continue.
Meanwhile, Superintendent Letsholathebe has urged members of the public to work cordially with the police. He also appealed tobar owners to adhere to stipulated operating hours. Ends
