Selala new Mogoditshane Thamaga District Council chairperson

History was made on Monday as the newly established Mogoditshane/ Thamaga District Council ushered in a new era of leadership under the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) party.
Councillor for Thamaga West Molatedi Selala, a veteran councillor now in his fourth term, was unanimously elected chairperson with Mmopane South Central’s councillor Thatayaone Mosimakoko voted as his deputy.
In his acceptance speech, councillor Selala vowed to collaborate with the administrative leadership of the council and his fellow councillors, to advance the mandate entrusted to them by the people of Mogoditshane/Thamaga District.
Councillor Mosimakoko echoed his colleague’s sentiments, pledging to serve with diligence.
Meanwhile the newly elected council members were officially sworn in and nine committees charged with spearheading the council’s various initiatives were established paving the way for the commencement of the council’s official business. Ends
