Local disco artist Sekokovia has released his second album titled Molapowabojang.

The album has eight tracks with outstanding songs like Molapowabojang, Robala ka kagiso, Botshelo, Majita and Chebukani remix.

Molapowabojang is dedicated to a place where the popular South African disco group Splash usually performs while in Botswana, whereas Robala ka kagiso is a tribute to the late Don B. The album was produced by Nicholas Emjoe Morupisi and recorded at Emjoe Records in Francistown.

In an interview, the 31-year-old Bobonong born Sekokovia said he was introduced to the music industry by the late Donald Botshelo aka Don B in 2011, who also helped produce his first album Kgalemelang Bana that enjoyed airplay in local and international radio stations.

However, he said he was recently signed by the newly formed disco stable Majalisa Entertainment owned by disco queen Patricia Majalisa in South Africa.

Sekokovia said he toured with the stable during the festive season and he would also be working as a backing vocalist at Majalisa Entertainment.

He explained that through his music he managed to reach far places such as South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, England and France with the help of South African UK based promoter Mr Tom Wardle.

About his newly released Kgalemang Bana DVD, Sekokovia said it has five video songs namely Kgalemelang Bana,Chebukani, Botswana, Ngiyathokoza and Baya Buza. Kgalemelang Bana DVD was shot and edited by Speto Digital Media in Francistown.

He said he released the DVD to promote his music career as music followers often mistook him for South African artistes because of his disco style.

Sekokovia gives credit to the late Don B for introducing him to the music industry, his longtime producer Nicholas Morupisi who also took part in producing Kgalemelang Bana album as well as Patricia Majalisa for recognising his talent. ENDS
