Molepolole’s Magistrate, Chief Magistrate Gaseitsewe Tonoki has remanded Keaboka Moitsheki pending investigations in the murder of Disana Kebawetse at Goora-Thipe Ward in Molepolole on Saturday.

The 40-year-old, appeared before magistrate court today and is alleged to have killed his uncle, Mr Kebawetse, aged 71.

The deceased, who was found lying motionless, was suspected to have been hit with an object on the head.  He was certified dead at the scene by the medical team.

Chief Magistrate Tonoki said the accused would remain in custody since investigations into the matter were still at infancy stage.

During arraignment, Public Prosecutor Inspector Thema Marumola told court that post-mortem had not been done yet hence the need to remand the accused. He also said the family also feared for their safety.

In an interview with BOPA, Molepolole Police station commander, Superintendent Jacob Molapong said a neighbour who came to report the matter to the police at around 2:30am alerted them about the incident.

He said this was after the accused had informed the neighbour that he had a misunderstanding with his uncle that led to a fight.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court again on December 17. Ends
