Mpho Mosenya (19) of Mosaise Ward in Mabuo appeared before Senior Magistrate Onneile Ntwayapelo of Serowe Magistrate Court on Tuesday for a single count of murder

The accused is said to have stabbed to death 22-year-old man of the same village after a heated argument and misunderstanding over a girlfriend.

Serowe police Station commander, Superintendent Poloko Oteng said in an interview that Mosenya was arrested in the early hours of November 1, in Mabuo after the incident was reported to the police.

He said the accused, had stabbed the deceased with a sharp object on the chest, leaving him lying motionless in a pool of blood and escaped the scene.

Superintendent Oteng said the matter was reported to the police who rushed the deceased to Mabuo clinic and later to Sekgoma Memorial Hospital where he was certified dead upon arrival.

He said cases of this nature were a concern in his policing area. The accused will appear again in court on February 25. Ends
