Zambia’s President Mr Hakainde Hichilema also congratulated the new President Adv. Duma Boko on his remarkable victory in the country’s elections.

In a statement, President Hichilema extended his country’s heartfelt congratulations to Batswana for their commitment towards fair and peaceful elections.

President Hichilema says this is not just victory for UDC, but a win for democracy itself.

He says he looks forward to the continued implementation of Zambia and Botswana’s bilateral cooperation agreements with the new leadership. 

He commended the former president, Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi for graciously conceding and further consolidating democracy in the region and the continent as a whole, while ensuring a smooth transfer of power.

He said Dr Masisi’s actions has further strengthened the democratic fabric of Botswana. ENDS
