The Ambassador of the United States, Mr Howard Van Vranken, has on behalf of the United States, congratulated the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) and President Advocate Duma Boko on their historic victory in Botswana’s 2024 general elections.

Ambassador Van Vranken in a press statement says the outcome reflects the profound trust that the citizens of Botswana have placed in President Boko’s leadership.

He says Botswana’s peaceful transfer of power  is a testament to the resilience and unity of all Batswana in shaping the future, through the power of their voices and votes.

“The United States reaffirms our support for Botswana’s democratic institutions and our shared partnership rooted in common values. I also commend President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi for his dedicated leadership and express my deepest appreciation for his commitment to democratic principles, which have been foundational to Botswana’s success since independence.”
