Tlokweng police investigate drowning incident

Tlokweng Police are investigating an incident in which two people are reported to have drowned in a fish pond at the Royal Aria in Tlokweng on September 28.
In an interview, Tlokweng Station Commander Superintendent Unoziba Rari said the duo were among those who had attended the Simply Piano music event at Royal Aria Stadium. He said the incident was reported to the police around 4am by some of the event patrons who witnessed the incident.
Upon receiving the report, he said the police engaged scuba divers and soldiers to help with the search. Supt. Rari said the first person, aged 19, from Kumakwane, was retrieved from the pond on September 30 at 8am while the second person on October 1 at 7am.
He said the second person was yet to be identified and his body was currently at Pule Mortuary.
“A male aged between 20-30, wearing a blue jean jacket (trimmed with fur inside), black jeans and black sandals is ye to be identified,” he said, and urged members of the public to assist in identifying the remaining deceased. ENDS
