- Ghanzi police are investigation an incident in which a 32-year-old man allegedly murdered two siblings, a 51-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman in New-Xade on September 7.

Ghanzi police station Commander, Superintendent Modiro Lekone confirmed the case in an interview on Wednesday.

He said it was reported that the accused visited the homestead of the two siblings and found them drinking beer then started pestering the woman, who was his girlfriend, about her drinking habit.

Supt Lekone said a fight ensued and the woman’s brother intervened.

The fight ceased and the 32 year-old reportedly left the scene for  his house in the neighborhood, Supt Lekone said.

He said it was reported that the man made a sudden appearance, re-launched the fight and stabbed the woman and his brother who were in the company of another 20-year-old young man, who  sustained minor injuries.

Supt Lekone said it was suspected that after realising what he had done, the man committed suicide in the same compound where the incident happened.

He said the survivor was treated and recovering well while the bodies had been taken to Maun for post mortem. ENDS
