Government to embark Mpox screening

Ministry of Health through Botswana Public Health Institute has put measures to strengthen surveillance of Mpox virus.
Screening activities at Maun and Gaborone airports as well as Kazungula,Tlokweng, Martin’s Drift, Pioneer and Mamuno border port of entries was expected to effect August 19.
Botswana has not reported any case of Mpox yet.
Mpox symptoms include rashes, fever, swollen lymph nodes, sore throat, myalgia, fatique, chills and cough.
WHO and Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention declare Mpox outbreak a global public health emergency. Ends
