NTSUAPE GETS TWO LIFE SENTENCES 60 YEARS JAIL TERM

15 Aug 2024

Justice Barnabas Nyamadzabo of the Gaborone High Court has on August 15 sentenced murder convict, Gobuamang Ntsuape to two life sentences for two offences of murder and 60 years for four attempted murders.

He was sentenced to two life sentences for each murder as well as 15 years for each of the attempted murders.

The charges for the four attempted murders will run consecutively, effectively making it 60 years.

The facts of the matter are that in December 2016, Ntsuape, who is already on death row for a previous murder, wrestled for the steering wheel of a combi he was being transported in from court to prison with the driver, which led to the combi overturning, thereby killing a police officer and a fellow inmate.

The accident also led to the injury of four other occupants of the combi.

Meanwhile, in 2022, Ntsuape was sentenced to death by the Francistown High Court for the murder of his ex-girlfriend’s mother.

He allegedly torched a car parked next to the house in which the victim was sleeping in, leading to the house catching fire and burning the victim to death. Ends
