Double murder accused, Unangoni Salathi of Makobo will appear for another mention on July 18.

Salathi, who appeared before Francistown magistrate was not asked to plead.

Salathi, who stands accused of killing his two children using a knife on July 6 at Monarch area in Francistown, has been on the run and was arrested in Makuta on Tuesday.

The prosecutor, Mr Ditshotlo Mpale, pleaded with court not to grant the suspect bail as investigations were still fresh.

He said the incident happened some four days ago adding that the investigating officer in the matter was not readily available as he was attending the forensics post-moterm of the two minor deceased.

Salathi told the court that he would represent himself though the court gave him an option that the state would provide a pro deo lawyer for him, payable by the state, if he could not afford a legal representation.

The Francistown Chief Magistrate, Ms Game Mooketsi, aceeded to the prosecution request and remanded Salathi until July 18 for another mention.  ENDS
