The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) has launched Mr Oral Mosedame as its prospective parliamentary candidate for Gaborone South ahead of the upcoming general elections.
Mr Mosedame is an entrepreneur and serves in the BCP structures as party treasurer.
Speaking during the launch, BCP leader, Mr Dumelang Saleshando, urged Gaborone South electorates to vote for him owing to his good leadership skills and his input in the development of the constituency over the years. Mr Saleshando said his party was blessed to have devoted leaders like Mr Mosedane who were keen to serve their constituents, describing him as a God sent messiah to liberate residents of Gaborone South from the slavery of the ruling party.
He commended Mr Mosedane for positively impacting the lives of Gaborone South constituents, adding that he was the appropriate candidate to transform the lives of Gaborone South residents.
He said the BCP was the only party that represented the aspirations of Batswana owing to its unity and stability.
He said their coalition with other political parties would yield positive results not only during the upcoming elections, but also in liberating Batswana from the claws of the ruling party.
He said the BCP built its ideology on the politics of principle, hence its ability to attract credible political leaders such as Dr Prince Dibeela and Mr Temba Joina.
“The BCP is the only party that has successfully illustrated unity and transparency in recent times hence it is not surprising that it continues to build strong collaborations with other political parties in the likes of MELS and Botswana Labour Party, Botswana Alliance Movement, New Democratic Front and Botswana Progressive Union,” he said.
Mr Saleshando also said the BCP had the interests of Batswana at heart and was committed to introducing reforms, particularly in the education sector, adding that all children would be compelled to attend pre-primary school.
Mr Mosedane said he was ready to contribute towards the betterment of his constituency and its residents.
“Gaborone South is one of the poorly serviced constituencies in Gaborone with a high poverty rate,” he said, adding that it needed a determined representative like him to turn the fortunes of the constituency around.
Mr Mosedane pleaded with residents to vote for the BCP at both the parliamentary and council level to ensure a brighter future for Botswana.ENDS
