Fatal accident at Debswana Mine

An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident in which an employee sustained fatal injuries at the Debswana Jwaneng Diamond Mine operations.
According to a press statement from Debswana, the incident occurred on Monday morning, June 17 2024, involving a crane and a drill rig at the Debswana Jwaneng Mine operations. The employee involved was working for one of Debswana's business partners and tragically suffered fatal injuries.
The statement mentions that an investigation is currently underway and updates will be provided to relevant stakeholders as the inquiry progresses.
Additionally, the statement expresses that Debswana is extending full support to the family of the deceased and requests that they are given the respect and privacy they deserve during this challenging period.
