Ramotswa police investigate suicide

Ramotswa police are investigating a suspected suicide incident involving a 45-year-old man.
The deceased was discovered hanging from a tree along cutline road behind Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) premises in Ramotswa.
Ramotswa Police CID Officer in Charge Assistant Superintendent Kefilwe Oitsile said the deceased who left a suicide note addressed to his cousin, girlfriend and niece was reported missing by his cousin on Monday afternoon.
Alarmed by his statement the cousin reported him as a missing person and the search for him was launched.
“He was discovered by a group of people being his family who went in search of him, who then notified the police”, she said.
ASP Oitsile said that the incident follows a similar suicide case last week, where man committed suicide and was discovered decomposed by his family.
She said that suicide cases were becoming worrisome in the policing with three registered between January and May this year.
On another note, ASP Oitsile said that theft and burglary incidents were also becoming worrisome in Ramotswa, urging the public to cooperate with the police during investigations and to participate in neighborhood watch initiatives. ENDS
