Six men in police custody

Ramotswa Police are holding six men in custody after uncovering suspected copper cable theft. The six men were arrested Tuesday morning along the Taung River bank in possession of over 100metres of copper whose value is yet to be confirmed as Police investigations continue. Ramotswa Police station Commander Supt Keoagile Tau said the copper cable were suspected to be stolen from a BTC network line at GooRadimpe ward near Bamalete Lutheran Hospital.The rise in number of copper theft which is now a national threat is costing government millions of Pula in replacement and repair. There has also been a surge in theft of Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) infrastructure in Ramotswa and surrounding villages.
