Pentecostal Holiness Church in Botswana, northern region members, in Serowe has donated toiletries to Serowe SOS children’s village.
The donation was part of the church’s Easter celebrations.
Handing over the gifts, Bishop Kekgaoditse Suping said through the donation, the church wanted to ensure that children at SOS Serowe maintained good hygiene and focused more on their studies.
He underscored the importance of personal hygiene, adding that a good and healthy body boosted one’s confidence, while preventing diseases.
He said the donation was part of the church’s programme meant to extend outreach services to the entire community.
“We, as the church, preach about love and it is important that we show such love by helping to uplift the underprivileged members of the community, because love is sharing and sharing is caring.
So we are here to share love and appreciate the life that God has given us,” said Bishop Suping.
Receiving the donations, SOS youth development officer, Mr Mopati Mosarwa appreciated the gesture, stating that they relied on donations from various institutions and individuals.
He said there were 76 children at the centre with ages ranging from two months upwards, mostly orphans and disadvantaged.
He said the donation would augment their tight budget.
Other SOS centers are in Tlokweng and Francistown. ENDS
