Addressing the congregation during the Church’s Easter holiday festivities in Tlokweng over the weekend, Mr Segokgo, who also serves as the Minister of Communications, Knowledge, and Technology, commended the church leadership for the evolution of the congregation.
He highlighted the church’s rebranding, previously known as City of Angels, as a significant transformative journey that should be embraced and promoted within the community.
“The church has a huge responsibility of transforming our citizens, you have a role to play in changing our youth who are inundated with challenges,” he said.
Mr Segokgo said there was a correlation between responsibilities of the church and government. He said the state and the church worked separately but cooperatively as the state protected citizens and the church imparted knowledge about life in general. He urged the church to continue assisting government in healing its citizens spiritually and building a better nation.
Mr Segokgo praised the church for its continued good corporate social practices.
He added that efforts shown by City of Revelation Healing church should not go unnoticed.
Mr Segokgo also thanked the church for frequently donating to vulnerable members of the community, a gesture that was in a way strengthening the already existing fruitful partnership between government and the Church of Christ.
He urged the congregants to pray for the country’s leadership especially President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi.
“He has ambitions and hopes for a better Botswana and has the interest of all citizens at heart.
His dreams become a reality when you pray for him,” he added.
Mr Segokgo pleaded with church members to take advantage of the supplementary voter registration period and register to exercise their democratic right.
For his part, founder of the City of Revelations Archbishop, Dr Boipuso Ntsebele said it was their intention as the church to encourage and support initiatives proposed by government.
Highlighting on the church’s initiatives and future plans, Dr Ntsebele said they would continue with assisting the less privileged members of society countrywide.
Archbishop Ntsebele praised his executive committee for a job well done in the re-registration period of the church and said the church leadership must be encouraged to establish good working relations and proper consultations among its congregants as the two values were key to the success of any organization.
