26 Mar 2024

To celebrate and uplift the outstanding performance of its dedicated teachers, Moremi Primary School recently hosted an Excellence Awards ceremony in their honour.

The event, organised by the school PTA, aimed to recognise hard work and commitment of teachers in enhancing the school’s overall performance and fostering a culture of excellence through appreciation of those who got 80 per cent and above pass mark.

Speaking at the ceremony, school head, Ms Ngonda Setlhare commended teachers’ unwavering dedication and passion for education.

She emphasised the crucial role teachers played in shaping the minds and future of the pupils, appreciating their tireless efforts in creating a conducive learning environment.

“The ceremony not only uplifts teachers, but also aims to inspire them to continue striving for excellence in their noble profession,” she said.

Giving a keynote address, Maun Water Utilities Corporation general manager, Mr Paul Mafaone said a teacher was like a candle that consumed self to give light to others, thus the sacrifices and efforts made by the teachers for pupils to pass needed to be recognised.

During the ceremony, teachers were presented with certificates of recognition and monetary gifts as tokens of appreciation for their outstanding performance in various aspects of their teaching roles.

Awards were given for excellence in teaching, those who had a pass mark of 80 per cent and above, the most improved teacher, and extracurricular involvement including non-teaching staff that showed dedication to the school.

A standard Seven teacher, Mr Henry Nfila, who was awarded best performance with a 94 per cent, shared that for one to be able to achieve excellence they needed to do their work with love and recognise each one of their pupil’s need in order to be able to help them accordingly.  Ends
