Botswana Estonia share common values

Botswana and Estonia have a  relationship rooted in shared values, including a strong commitment to the rule of law, respect for human rights, and  peaceful resolution of conflicts.

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi highlighted this during the official talks with Estonia President, Mr Alar Karis, at the Office of the President yesterday.

These values, the President said underpinned the strong bond between the two nations.

Furthermore, Dr Masisi said Botswana and Estonia not only share values but also collaborate in advancing their development priorities, advocating for global peace and security and celebrating their rich arts and cultural heritage.

In response, President Karis echoed President Masisi’s sentiments, recognising the shared values and expressing eagerness to enhance their development initiatives through collaboration.

President Karis also  invited Dr Masisi to visit Estonia in the near future, indicating Estonia’s keen interest in gaining insights from Botswana’s experiences.

Reflecting on his arrival, President Karis said he was treated to a special cultural evening, underscoring the alignment in values between the two nations.

He noted Estonia’s appreciation for Botswana’s cultural music and highlighted Estonia’s own cultural affinity for folklore music, showcasing a mutual love for artistic expression. ENDS
