Cresta Hotels have donated close to P60 000 to Moremi Memorial and Matlapana primary schools of Maun. Speaking during a handing over ceremony, Cresta Hotels Group ICT manager, Mr Galeboe Mmelesi emphasised the need to teach children the importance of taking care of the environment at a tender age.

“It is very important for you as a school to jealously protect the environment and become the cleanest school in Maun if not in Botswana so that you achieve high academic excellence,” he said.

Donated items included pens, note books, revision books for Standard Seven pupils, dustbins, pencils, markers, scissors, sharpeners, chalk, and a waste recycling center.

Cresta Hotels Cluster general manager, Dr Seth Mogwaketsi said the supplies ‘will not only enhance the learning experience for the pupils but also contribute to creating a cleaner and more sustainable environment within the school premises’.

Matlapana Primary School head, Ms Kebatho Segolodi expressed gratitude to Cresta for the contribution, which she said would have a positive impact on the academic performance and overall wellbeing of pupils.

“By providing essential educational materials and promoting waste management practices, Cresta hotels is actively contributing to the holistic development of our pupils and fostering a culture of sustainability,” said Ms Segolodi.

Moremi Memorial primary school head, Ms Ngonda Setlhare made an assurance  that the donation would be put to good use.

“The donation not only addresses immediate needs but also reflects a long-term commitment to supporting education and environmental stewardship and for that we are very thankful,” she said. Ends
