Sejelo police are investigating an incident in which a young man in his mid-20s is suspected to have murdered two women at Matlholojane lands.

In an interview, Sejelo Police Station commander, Superintendent Mogomotsi Matlapeng confirmed the incident, saying they received the report on Saturday and upon arrival they found the two bodies lying two metres apart.

Supt. Matlapeng said the 56-year-old woman was certified dead upon arrival at Seventh Day Adventist Hospital in Kanye while the other, in her early 40s, was rushed to Princess Marina Hospital, where she was also certified dead.

He said the perpetrator was found on his bed, with foam coming out of his mouth and was also certified dead upon arrival at the hospital.

“We have discovered that all the deceased were relatives and investigations are ongoing to determine what might have caused the unfortunate incident,” he said.

Consequently, he advised Batswana to seek help in the midst of misunderstandings and not resort to violence.

Meanwhile, Kanye Police Station commander, Supt. Vincent Pitseetsile said they were investigating an incident in which a 30-year-old man of Modukanele ward in Kanye is suspected to have defiled a 17-year-old girl of Phate ward in Molapowabojang.

Supt. Pitseetsile said a missing report was filed on February 17 in which the girl’s parents informed them that they had, on February 14, sent her on some errands at Mmathethe, from Kanye and she did not return.

However, they informed the police that she was seen with a certain man who was arrested the same day and told them that he last saw the girl at the time she went to Mmathethe.

The girl was found on February 18 in Metlobo and she told the police that from February 14 to 16, she was with the man in Mmathethe.

In another incident, Supt. Pitseetsile highlighted that they had also registered an incident of attempted rape, which happened on Sunday.

He said an 18-year-old girl of Tsotjwe ward informed the police that some man got in her house through the window at around 1am and tried to undress her and when she called for help, the perpetrator fled through the window.

“However, the girl said she and her brother managed to see who the perpetrator was when they switched on the lights,” he said.

He advised men to always propose love relationships instead of forcing themselves on them, taking into consideration the females’ age to avoid cases of defilement. Ends
