Boteti West constituency has recorded satisfying voter registration numbers.

According to Boteti West principal registration officer, Mr Ewetse Selelo, as at the first week of registration, they had a total number of 2 290, which figures he said demonstrated that the public understood the importance of voter registration.

He attributed the numbers to easily accessible registration centres, noting that the only challenge encountered was that registration centres in cattle posts recorded low numbers as people preferred to register in villages.

Mr Selelo indicated that as their role was to lead, guide and ensure smooth running of registration, they publicised and educated the public on the importance of registration.

The total number of voter registered stood at 10 404 as at January 26, Mr Selelo said and indicated that the second week had 3 536, third 2 695, which declined to 1 883. ENDS
