Five schools in the Ramotswa District have received educational books and stationery worth over P600 000.

The donation, courtesy of Bolux Group and RMB through the FNBB Foundation, was handed to Taung, Kelemogile, Ramotswa and Baitlotli junior schools as well as Kagiso senior,  at Taung Kgotla on Wednesday.

Bolux Group Human Resource Manager, Ms Portia Chipalaza-Tobedza said the second educational book donation was meant to promote learning.

She said the gesture was extended to Taung and Ramotswa schools,  their area of operation as a way of giving back to the society.

Ms Chipalaza-Tobedza said they had conversed with school management about some of the challenges, more especially the downward spiralling academic results and they agreed to empower the community through stationery donations.

She said Bolux contributed over P400 000, RMB P150 000 while the rest of the funds were from the supplier of the stationery.

She attributed poor academic results in schools to low work ethic.

Ms Chipalaza-Tobedza urged all stakeholders to collaborate to improve the teaching and learning process.

Head of Coverage at RMB, Ms Boatametse Kganela said through the FNBB Foundation, they had to find ways to assist in closing gaps in the society’s economic, social and environmental challenges.

She said they partnered with Bolux Group after learning about the good initiative, which was aimed at growing opportunities for learners and the teaching fraternity.

Ms Kganela said education was a key factor in any society and it was vital to motivate school communities through such donations.

Accepting the donation, Kelemogile school head, Ms Kentsenao Moalosi thanked sponsors for the gesture.

She said the learning material would go a long way in easing the teaching and learning journey. She said the schools had textbook challenges and was a blessing to receive such a treasure. ENDS
