Good Hope/Mabule constituency MP, Mr Eric Molale, has announced that he will not be seeking re-election in this year general elections.
He said this at a kgotla meeting in Good Hope on January 21, explaining that despite still having energy, he felt it was time to retire due to old age.
Mr Molale gave a summary of the accomplishments of his office over the past five years, highlighting completed projects, ongoing initiatives, and those in the pipeline.
As the Minister of Transport and Public Works, he said he was commitment to connecting all villages in his constituency to the national electricity grid, saying there was a significant progress in this effort. Additionally, he mentioned improvements in the district’s water situation and the successful completion of the North-South courier project. Mr Molale also assured residents that efforts were underway to ensure water distribution to all villages.
Regarding infrastructure, the MP mentioned upcoming road construction projects, including the Good Hope-Gathwane and Bray-Mmathethe roads. While residents acknowledged Mr Molale’s contributions to these projects, many expressed concerns about persistent water shortages in the village.
Despite ongoing improvement efforts by the contractor, residents reported enduring days without access to water.
In response to these concerns, the water cluster manager, Mr Kobamelo Letsatsi, explained that the situation would improve once all ongoing works were completed, noting that water rationing was currently in place.
The acting Agricultural Coordinator, Mr Phetogo Molefi, briefed residents on the Temo Letlotlo programme. ends
