Phikwe primary does it again

Selebi Phikwe primary schools have once again performed outstandingly in the 2023 Primary School Leaving Examinations with a performance range of 84.1 and 98.8 per cent ABC.
Ten schools scored 90 per cent and above and only one scored below 90 per cent at 84.1 per cent.
“Our schools have done exceptionally well and I am so proud of them,” Selebi Phikwe Sub-region chief education officer, Mr Tshwarelo Hosia, said in an interview.
Phikwe primary scored 98.8 per cent ABC and defeated 2022 champions, Boitumelo primary which dropped to position 11 at 84.1 per cent.
Mr Hosia attributed the outcome to tireless to preparation for the exams by teachers and pupils.
“Looking at our academic culture, we expected good results again this year,” said Mr Hosia.
He commended Segomotso Primary School for a drastic improvement from last year’s 75.2 per cent to this year’s 91 per cent and moving up the ladder from position 11 to eight.
Mr Hosia also praised interventions by the sub-region such as regular inspections and ensuring implementation of recommendations among measures that helped the schools to perform well.
He said more ought to be done to help government schools achieve 100 per cent ABC just like private schools.
Morula, Kopano and Mount Pleasant private schools attained 100 per cent ABC. Ends
