 A 26-year-old woman of Botshabelo Ward in Selebi Phikwe is helping the police with investigations pertaining to the murder of her 46-year-old man.

Botshabelo Police Station commander, Superintendent Debbie Mdabuli told BOPA that the woman who is in police custody following a Saturday bar brawl, hails from Tumasera/Seleka while her boyfriend is from Chadibe/Borotsi.

The two, according to Supt Mdabuli were out drinking at a bar and allegedly had a misunderstanding that resulted with the woman hitting the man with a bottle on the head.

Supt Mdabuli stated that the police rushed to the scene after they were alerted and took the man to the hospital where he was certified dead upon arrival.

Names of the deceased have been withheld until his next of kin is notified.

Supt Mdabuli urged Botshabelo residents to drink responsibly and avoid violence.

She urged them to obey the 60 days of Action on Crime and Road Safety by committing to avoid engaging in any criminal activities and obeying traffic regulations. Ends
