Churches have been urged to embrace the mindset change agenda and rely on the power of prayer to achieve the impossible.
Speaking at the graduation and ordination ceremony of the Mmankgodi Ministerial Fraternal on Saturday, Minister of Defence Mr Kagiso Mmusi said he was impressed to see a new batch of graduands from the Christian Haven School of Ministry.
He urged other aspiring pastors to seek qualification as government required qualified pastors.
“Education enlightens and I must say I’m extremely gratified for our graduates. 18 people will change this village. Giving people proper education is the first step towards developing them,” he said. Mr Mmusi advised graduands to lead their different congregations with responsibility.
Christian Haven School of Ministry is an online Bible college offering theology, ministerial studies, pastoral counselling and leadership development.
Administration officer at the college, Pastor Alice Mwanza said they trained people so that they impart their ministerial duties diligently.
She said Christian Haven School was online, accredited in Zimbabwe and offered certificate, high diploma and degree courses.
Pastor Dr Michael Motswakadikgwa encouraged graduands to excel in their ministries.
He emphasised professionalism and implored the graduands to emulate Apostle Paul, who laid a foundation as an influential figure of the apostolic age.
“We need to be qualified and sharpen our knowledge to excel in our ministry. The primitive mentality should not reverse our efforts to change our mindset. God has laid grace upon our lives we have to apply our knowledge,” he said.
Chairperson of the Mmankgodi Fraternal said it was not easy when they first planned to enrol the pastors but they persevered.
He applauded Minister Mmusi, who is also Gabane/Mmankgodi Member of Parliament for assisting with registration funds.
He said they took 18 pastors on board and urged them to serve God and their folk and to be submissive to the church leadership at all times.
A graduand, Pastor Betty Monnawatladi applauded the college, saying she worked tirelessly and learnt a lot during her course of study.
She said she learnt to embrace the Pentecost and urged congregants to invite the holy spirit into their lives. Ends
