 Okavango District Council (ODC) will undertake school projects under the Economic Recovery Transformation Programme (ERTP).

Council chairperson, Mr Gaopalelwe Ronald said when opening a full council meeting on Monday that the projects included the construction of a new primary school in Shakawe as well as construction of facilities at Tsodilo, Eretsha and Mokgacha primary schools.

He said classrooms, administration blocks, ablutions and staff accommodation were some of the infrastructure to be constructed.

Mr Ronald said construction was anticipated to start next month and that the projects provided opportunities for employment to both locals and other Batswana.

Mr Ronald also said the district had been allocated close to P7 million to  maintain two primary schools of Gudigwa and Nxamasere. ENDS
