Mthimkhulu commends Limkokwing
12 Dec 2023
It was evident throughout the year that Batswana continue to be a compassionate, just and caring nation contributing to the welfare of fellow citizens.
Assistant Minister for State President, Mr Dumezweni Mthimkhulu said this at an event that was organised to mark Limkokwing University’s gift of a Christmas tree to the nation.
The tree is 12 metres high, six metres wide and has a total of 50 000 lights.
Mr Mthimkhulu said Batswana needed to be commended for their enduring spirit of community and sharing.
He said this time of the year was an opportunity to give thanks for the year that is ending, and appreciate people’s different contributions to the wellbeing of the nation.
He urged the nation to wish speedy recovery and wellbeing to those in hospitals, or recuperating at home.
He asked for a special thought for those who would be on duty doing rendering essential service, thus not being able to be with their families.
Limkokwing University Council member, Mr Gideon Gatsha said the event was an outreach programme to raise funds for charity and uplift those in need, in partnership with UNICEF. ENDS
