Africa is a continent of boundless opportunities, but requires a paradigm shift in mindset, leading to renewed means of governance and doing business to fully utilise its enormous growth potential, President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has said.

Delivering a Keynote Address at the Kusi Ideas Festival Cultural Night recently, President Masisi said his government’s Reset Agenda, among whose pillars is Mindset Change, and the actual hosting of the continental Ideas minefield was a testament to his unwavering commitment to the realisation of such.

“Our unwavering support and commitment to the Kusi Ideas Festival is firmly grounded on the belief that Africa has great potential to emerge as the economic powerhouse of the world.

Our nation is currently engaged in a strategic and transformative initiative known as A Re Chencheng, a campaign instigated towards instigating a paradigm shift- imperative in achieving our recalibrated agendas that resonate with the vision espoused by the Kusi Ideas Festival,” Dr Masisi said.

He said by assuming the mantle of host, Botswana sought to seamlessly integrate her transformative journey into the overarching continental vision of a prosperous Africa.

“The hosting of the Kusi Ideas Festival transcends its role as a mere reference point; it emerges as a distinctive opportunity for us to harmonise our transformative efforts with the broader

African vision encapsulated in the Agenda 2063, succinctly termed: The Africa we want,” the President said.

He added that hosting Kusi offered Botswana the opportunity to forge ties, share its distinctive narrative with the broader continent, expand its marketplace and allow Africans to pull their ideas together for a better future.

“Boasting a population of over 1.3 billion people, Africa stands as a continent of immense potential, teeming with opportunities for strategic investment and economic growth.

With the youngest population globally, a significant portion under 30, this demographic dividend, coupled with a rising middle class and increased urbanisation, creates a thriving for businesses seeking expansion,” Dr Masisi said. ENDS
