Unik construction commits to quality work

Unik Construction Engineering has committed to ensuring quality delivery on all national projects it is currently tasked with.
Speaking during the end of year media engagement session on Thursday, Unik Construction Engineering’s Board Chairperson, Mr Leutlwetse Tumelo highlighted that the company was committed to making a positive difference within the country and in Africa as a whole.
Mr Tumelo said with their high quality works and best service dedication, the company had successfully delivered over 45 major national projects in Botswana as well as over 130 in the SADC region.
He underlined the quality assurance certification drive that ensures that all projects were delivered in a standardised manner.
“We remain resolute in our commitment to quality, and a testament to this is our ongoing quality assurance certification, ISOs: 9001 Quality Management System, 14001 Environment Management System and 450001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, which position us as a leader in the industry,” said Mr Tumelo.
Updating on the ongoing projects in Botswana, Unik Construction Engineering General Manager Mr Yun Sun stated that there were three key projects currently ongoing.
Mr Yun said the Moshupa Sanitation Scheme, which was at 99 percent, was already operational with the client being Water Utilities Corporation (WUC).
He said they were working on the North South Carrier 2.2 C3 80km pipeline which was at 65 percent completion and on track for delivery in June 2024.
He said the most recent project they have undertaken was the Mandunyane-Mathangwane Road construction which was still at 15 percent and will go on for two years.
Mr Yun said all the three projects have contributed to the direct employment of over 1500 workers, with the main beneficiaries being those from nearby areas.
The company’s Public Relations Manager, Mr Sasara George said the company was also committed to continuing to help communities and the less privileged through the Unik Charitable Foundation Trust.
“We have committed P1 million annually from the company to supporting the Trust activities,” said Mr George.
He said Unik Construction Engineering was registered 1996 in Botswana, and has since grown into seven countries in the Southern Africa region, being Lesotho, Namibia, Zambia, Malawi, South Africa and Tanzania, employing 1400 staff.ENDS
