In celebrating his Channel O victory, Zeus in collaboration with Yarona fm staged a mother of all parties at Masa roof top last Friday, December 6.
Zeus recently scooped the Most Gifted Male Video award at the glitzy 10th annual Channel O video awards for ‘Dats Wassup’ a track that feature South African most sought after artistes AKA and Tumi, a few days after the release of his latest album titled ‘African Time.’ Edging out the Nigerian trio of Flava and Wizkid as well as Donald from South Africa who were also nominees, speaks volumes in terms describing the talent that the local lyricist possess.

In a predominantly hip hop inspired event Friday night (December 6), Zeus gave the performance of a lifetime sampling some of the tracks from his previous mix tapes much to the delight of the youthful audience who sang along word to word.
The award winning artiste also proved that he is a cut above the rest in the game by a performing with a live band and backing vocalists, something not too popular with the local artistes.
On the same night, upcoming diva in the making, Samantha Mogwe and her band also did not disappoint on stage. Meanwhile, when Zeus made a breakthrough in the local airwaves with the ‘Imagination’ single a couple of years, many thought he is one of those one hit wonders.
Born Game Bantsi, Zeus garnered international attention with the success of his collaboration with South African self-proclaimed ‘Motswako’ prime mover, Hip Hop Pantsula on his album ‘YBA 2 NW’ back in 2005.
Following a length break away from the limelight after his participation on the Big Brother House season six dubbed ‘Amplified’, the Imagination hit maker is back and this time around a lot more determined to prove his supremacy even beyond borders.
In the context of his latest album titled ‘African Time’, it is with no doubt that Zeus is hoping to abode African Hip Hop genre in the pinnacle of the world music scene and he vividly demonstrated the diversity of Hip Hop by sampling old school mpaqanga beats and fusing them with modern hip hop.
With the lead single ‘Ma-Afrika’ already enjoying massive airplay in the local station and Channel O alike, the album us already promising to be a must have is festive season. ENDS
