Govt committed to upliftment of livelihoods

Government remains resolute in creating employment opportunities for Batswana and in particular the youth that constitute 60 per cent of the country’s population.
Addressing a kgotla meeting in Dimajwe on Wednesday, President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi said his goal was to uplift the lives of Batswana through inclusive approach in developments and ensuring that no one was left behind.
He encouraged residents to utilise government programmes to better their lives.
The President further encouraged them to establish companies and factories in their respective areas so as to create employment for themselves and fellow citizens.
On constituency community projects (CCP), he said the funds would now be used to improve internal roads countrywide. He said roads would paved using interlocking bricks bought from Batswana businesses complying with set standards so as to have quality roads.
He implored those who would have an opportunity to be involved in implementation of government projects to move with speed, adding that timely service delivery remained paramount as it meant creation of employment.
On other issues, President Masisi encouraged all to register and vote in large numbers, adding that people must vote wisely. He said constituents should vote for peace, democracy and tranquility for the country to remain a beacon of peace and democracy.
He informed residents that artificial insemination centres would be increased to bring services closer. He said government would increase funding for the youth projects. ENDS
