Red Cross donates printers

14 Nov 2023

Mmathethe/Molapowabojang Member of Parliament , Dr Edwin Dikoloti has applauded the Red Cross for its humanitarian efforts.

Speaking at the handing over of printers at Gathwane and Mosi, the MP said the Red Cross had improved the lives of his constituents through donating to the needy and less privileged.

He noted that it was not the first time that the international organisation had donated to his constituents, saying its efforts had not gone unnoticed.

The printers are valued at over P90 000 each and Dr Dikoloti said they would help the schools of the two villages and local communities in their various needs.

For his part, the secretary general of the Red Cross Mr Kutlwano Mukokomani said their efforts were made possible by collaboration.

He said after realising the unique challenges of the two villages, they partnered with Master Card Foundation to procure the printers.

He said they would bring relief and transformation as teachers would now focus on pupils than worrying about study materials and assignments.

He added that the printers would also create a conducive learning environment for both teachers and pupils as they would alleviate the stress of delay and incomplete information.

“They will pave the way for more academic success and efficiency as they will allow teachers to engage more with pupils,” he said.

Mr Mukokomani  said the printers symbolised hope, empowerment and opportunity as they would ensure that every child had equal access to quality education. ENDS
