Sitholes case before Komboni

14 Nov 2023

Gaborone High Court judge, Justice Gabriel Komboni has set December 12 for the status update of a case in which a Zimbabwean , Lovemore Sithole is accused of murdering one Tlotso Karema of Lobatse.

This came after the state and defence lawyers told the court that they had not managed to convene a case management meeting hence they had no minutes to file.

The state attorney, Mr Ambrose Mubika explained before Justice Komboni on Monday that convening a meeting between the two parties had not been possible due to the unavailability of the defence attorney.

“We are hamstrung and we can only ask for another status hearing,” said Mr Mubika explaining why they could not file their minutes of the meeting.

Ms Maipelo Radijeng who was standing in for Sithole’s substantive attorney, Mr Keorapetse Sambere also conceded to the failure of the two parties to meet.

She however assured the court that the accused’s attorney would avail himself for the meeting on Monday after the case mention.

Sithole (38), faces a single count of murder.

The prosecution alleges that he murdered seven-year-old Karema in March last year.
