In a remarkable display of generosity, CSI-Concepts Foundation through The Desert Bush Walk initiative recently distributed a staggering P450 000 to 13 deserving beneficiaries around the country.
Beneficiaries included Jwaneng Town Council, Karakubis, Mosojane, Letsholathebe and Malatswae primary schools, Kareng Projects, Bright Meadows, youth Unlimited Network, among others.
Giving her remarks at the event, Corporate Social Initiative Board Secretary, Ms Olivia Nthoi, explained that the initiative started in Jwaneng nearly 10 years ago where a group of volunteers came together for the sole purpose of helping the underprivileged in the community.
“Throughout the years, this initiative has attracted a lot of people in terms of giving back to the community not just nationally but globally and that is one thing to commend,” she said.
According to the organisers, the main objective of the initiative was among others to raise funds and support inclusive and sustainable community development projects.
The beneficiaries span a diverse range of causes, reflecting the organisation’s desire to support various sectors of society.
From local charities, according to organisers, it focused on education and healthcare to environmental initiatives and community development projects.
The organisers have have ensured that their contribution reaches those who need it the most.
This act of generosity serves as an inspiration to other organisations and individuals alike and they have urged other community members to pile in and support the organization in helping their society.
Meanwhile, next year’s Desert Bushwalk will be held on July 27. ENDS
