Lepokole Borotsi bye- election December 9

The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Mr Kgotla Autlwetse has issued a writ of election for Lepokole/Borotsi ward bye-election set for December 9.
A press release from the ministry says the minister has issued an Election Instrument in accordance with section 154(2) of the Electoral Act on November 2.
In addition, the release says nominations of candidates in the aforesaid polling district should be received on November 17, 2023 between 9am and 1230pm as well as 2pm and 5pm at Borotsi Primary School in Bobonong.
The bye-election follows the resignation of Mr Motseothata Mafoko from active politics in May 2023. He was elected ward councillor under the Umbrella for Democratic Change. ENDS
