Ngwaketse Land Board targets 17 915 plots
01 Nov 2023
The Ngwaketse Land Board plans to allocate a total of 17 915 plots during the 2023/24 financial year.
This was disclosed by the Ngwaketse Acting Land Board Secretary, Mr Philip Makhura, October 31, during a stakeholders’ breakfast meeting where the land board gave an update on the status of its delivery plan.
Mr Makhura revealed that to date, the land board had allocated 8 523 plots and indicated that the intention was to exhaust the waiting list, which currently stood at 144 089 before screening.
Mr Makhura said challenges that the land board faced included shortage of resources, scarcity of land for village expansion and applicants who already owned multiple plots.
He further promised that they would speed up allocation to meet the target by the end of the current financial year. ENDS
