A Botalaote ward house in Serowe, belonging to Ms Gaeitsiwe Sebego was destroyed by a hailstorm on Sunday afternoon (5pm) leaving the family in a state of despair. No one was injured.

Speaking in an interview with BOPA on Monday, her son Mr Bonno Kereeditse said her ailing mother was in the house during the incident and was not aware of what was happening due to her condition.

Today the children missed school due to the condition at home.

At the time of going to press, some of the consumables were still soaked in water.

He said food items got soaked because there was no one to rescue them due to the fact that family members were at church. He said he was yet to approach the district commissioner's disaster management team for appropriate help.

Mr Kereeditse was however grateful for the rain despite the hiccup, noting rain was needed for food security. Ends
