The newly elected member of Ntlo Ya Dikgosi for Boteti region, Kgosi Benjamin Banyula, has promised to give his all in representing the region.

Speaking after being victorious during the elections in Letlhakane on Friday, Kgosi Banyula of Mopipi thanked his colleagues for the nomination.

The vacant position for Boteti region followed the demise of Kgosi Godfrey Serapo of Toromoja  sometimes this year.

Therefore, as per section 78 of the constitution, a writ of elections was issued to fill the vacant position.

On election day, Kgosi Banyula was pitted against Mr Keletshwaretse Phetsogang of Mmatshumo, Mr Joseph Kenalemang from Rakops and Mr Dira Galeragwe of Letlhakane.

Kgosi Banyula won the elections with 36 votes, while Mr Kenalemang got 23, Mr Galeragwe 20 and Mr Phetsogang 16.

Boteti deputy district commissioner, Mr Ewetse Selelo commended dikgosi and stakeholders for the smooth flow of elections.BOPA
