The Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) is currently investigating allegations of possible cases of BGCSE examinations malpractice on Science Double Award Paper 3 and English Paper 1.

This follows allegations circulating on social media platforms that Science Double Award Paper 3 and English Paper 1 have allegedly been compromised.

In a press release, BEC says it treats such allegations seriously as a precautionary measure and has resolved to recall the English paper 1 which was scheduled to be written on October 16 to a later date.

The release says the public will be informed on the decision regarding Double Science Award which was written on October 5.

“Whilst the investigations are still ongoing the council appeals to the public to remain calm and for the candidates to remain focused on their examinations and field their best performance,” says the release.

It says the examinations council is doing all within its power to protect the best interest of the candidates while safeguarding the integrity and credibility of its qualifications. Ends
