Selebi Phikwe Police are investigating an incident in which a 39 year-old-woman was allegedly killed by her  husband (41) who later committed suicide at Orlando in Selebi Phikwe.

According to Assistant Superintendent Bontle Morekisi of Selebi Phikwe Police said  when police arrived at the scene where the deceased woman was lying in a pool of blood with an axe  besides the body whilst her  husband was  found hanging from the roof inside their house. 

She said the incident was reported on September 20  around lunch hour after the deceased called his brother to inform him about the alleged murder of his wife before committing suicide.

Assistant superintendent Morekisi said  deceased bodies were  at Selebi Phikwe hospital mortuary adding that their names were still withheld until the next of kin were informed.

She said investigations were still ongoing to establish the cause of the incident. Both the deceased hailed from Hubona  in Tutume District.
