Identify impactful projects - Tsogwane

18 Sep 2023

Acting President Slumber Tsogwane has advised residents of Boteti West villages to embark on projects that would make significant impact in the development of their sub-district.

Mr Tsogwane said this during National Development Plan 12 submission of project proposals event held in Rakops on Friday. He reminded them that distribution of resources followed a criteria, imploring them to be realistic and practical in their proposals.

Mr Tsogwane noted that it was critical to have a district headquarters administration centre that would service the surrounding villages, disclosing that the residents and leadership of Boteti West had agreed that Rakops should be the district headquarters.

He emphasised the importance of taking services closer to the people through the establishment of service centres such as Motopi.

Mr Tsogwane, who is also the area MP, informed the residents that development funds would not cover all project propositions, noting that the proposals would be taken to the planning commission where qualifying projects would be identified and selected for funding.

Motopi village development committee chairperson, Mr Bathusi Kutoro called for fair distribution of resources, saying funding of projects should not be skewed towards one village.

In response, Boteti District acting council secretary, Mr Christopher Maramba said the aim was to implement projects that could be impactful to the community. ENDS
